Job Description

The Senior Software Developer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing enterprise Warehouse Management System (WMS) applications and integrations. This role is heavily focused on production support, operational stability, and continuous improvement of business-critical warehouse systems.
Approximately 90% of the role will involve production support, issue resolution, performance optimization, and operational support activities, with the remaining focus on small-to-medium enhancements and system improvements. The ideal candidate combines strong Java development skills with proven experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment and is comfortable participating in on-call support, incident management, and cross-functional troubleshooting efforts.
This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, network teams, vendors, and support teams to ensure the reliability and ongoing enhancement of WMS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day production support for business-critical WMS applications and integrations.
Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, database, and performance issues in production environments.
Participate in P1/P2 incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident remediation activities.
Coordinate with infrastructure, network, database, and application support teams to resolve complex operational issues.
Diagnose slow-running queries, system bottlenecks, and application performance issues.
Develop and implement permanent solutions to recurring production problems.
Design, develop, test, and deploy application enhancements and system improvements.
Support the full lifecycle of enhancements, including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and hypercare support.
Develop and maintain integrations between WMS, ERP, automation systems, and external partners using APIs, messaging platforms, and EDI.
Partner with business teams to evaluate enhancement requests and translate requirements into technical solutions.
Support release deployments and post-production validation activities.
Create and maintain technical documentation, support runbooks, and operational procedures.
Participate in after-hours support and on-call activities as required for critical business issues.
Collaborate with architects and senior technical leaders on long-term application improvements and modernization initiatives.

10+ years of hands-on software development experience in enterprise environments
Strong hands-on Java development experience
Experience supporting, implementing, or developing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as:
Blue Yonder (JDA)
Manhattan
Körber
HighJump
Similar WMS platforms
Proven experience supporting production applications in a mission-critical environment
Experience troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and resolving complex application problems
Ability and willingness to participate in operational support activities, including critical production incidents and after-hours support when required
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across application, infrastructure, database, network, and business teams
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
