Job Description

Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a Land Lease Analyst to join one of the largest Oil & Gas client headquartered in Western, PA. This person should be comfortable conducting detailed reviews of lease contracts, assessing lease terms, rental provisions, and land use restrictions. This resource will regularly be interpreting legal documents, surveys, and land titles to ensure compliance with lease agreements. Additionally, they collaborate with legal teams, landowners, and lessees to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to the lease. Furthermore, the land lease analyst may perform market research to assess the value of leased land and its impact on overall property portfolios. Overall, this role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of real estate law, and the ability to effectively communicate complex lease details to support informed decision-making. Our end client has significant growth forecasted and is excited to add experienced workers to their land team to accommodate this expansion or units.

Day to Day:
- Reconcile legal descriptions, deed plots, and vested acreage with GIS and calculate acreage allocation between units
- Identify and correct any mapping errors.
- Ensure that 100% of the acreage within unit is accounted for.
- Analyze the terms, conditions, and obligations of oil and gas leases to determine how they may impact our development plans and take action to ensure lease compliance.
- Calculate estimated Working Interest and Net Revenue Interest for future wells.
- Become familiar with different pooling strategies and their general usage.
- Prepare and ensure the timely filing of unit declarations on a regular basis.
- Analyzing and reviewing division orders received from operators to ensure accuracy in the division of revenues among interest owners.
- Conducting title examination on leases and contracts to determine ownership interests in oil and gas properties.
- Calculating revenue distributions to interest owners based on production volumes, pricing, royalty interests, working interests, and other factors outlined in leases and contracts.
- Corresponding with owners, operators, and other stakeholders to address inquiries related to revenue distribution, ownership interests, and other relevant matters.
- Maintaining accurate records of ownership interests, revenue distributions, lease agreements, and other pertinent documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies governing revenue disbursements and ownership interests.
- Collaborating with legal and accounting teams to resolve issues related to title defects, ownership disputes, and financial discrepancies.
- Monitor lease expiration dates, rental payments, and potential lease amendments, and making the associated changed when necessary

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of experience within land, lease, or property within Oil & Gas
- Deep understanding of property law
o Read and analyze deeds, assignments, estate documents, and title opinions
o Jeffersonian, meets and bounds, bounded by, lot and block, and survey plot types
o Familiarity with co-tenancy, joint ownership, fractional ownership, etc.
- Attention to detail, good communication, ability to multitask
- Strong knowledge of MS Office / Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree
- Experience with Quorum, Dynamic Docs, Salesforce, and GIS Maps
- Coming from a previous upstream / downstream oil & gas supplier
