The Research Procurement Business Partner develops, leads, and executes sourcing initiatives and global strategies that deliver measurable value to the business in the areas of supply assurance, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation. This position will develop strategic sourcing solutions through a consultative approach in support of optimizing the company's Total Cost of Ownership and drive continuous improvement within the category by delivering creative, value-added business results through superior execution. Performs market evaluations, benchmarking, and spend analysis for focused categories. Develops a collaborative relationship with stakeholders ensuring early involvement of Procurement in the sourcing process, optimized negotiations, and compliance with all applicable policies. This is a hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA reporting into the procurement organization.
* Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or equivalent. Procurement certification (e.g., CPSM or CPSD) valued.
* 5+ years of procurement experience
* 5+ years of experience within R&D or lifescience related industry
* Experience in dealing with and negotiating with external suppliers with proven results.
* Understanding of the legal and compliance aspects of sourcing to effectively manage contract development with external partners to maximize value.
* Demonstrated excellence in negotiations and management of sourcing agreements required
