Job Description

operate and maintain battery energy storge units
This position is responsible for general operations and maintenance support in order to maintain high plant availability including condition monitoring and optimization, development and implementation of best practices for predictive and preventative maintenance, development of maintenance management system, develop and maintain critical spares program, and remote monitoring of asset health.
Day to Day:
- Work remotely within 30 miles of job site locations in New Jersey
- Work onsite at the different jobsites 95% of the time
- Operate in 4 diff OEM's- largest sites are 20 MW, have a 12 and 2 MW
- Thorough understanding of battery operation to include start-up, shutdown and emergency operational actions.
- Perform both routine and non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
- Make plant rounds, log equipment operating parameters and make adjustments on equipment as required.
- Schedule and coordinate field related activities in conjunction with the operations management.
- Requisition and assist in ordering and receiving plant materials.
- Represent the Company with vendors and regulators as assigned.
- The ability to respond calmly and think clearly in emergency situations and quickly access all areas of the plants.
- Evaluates and finds causes for equipment, procedural, and conditional control systems inefficiencies.

- Strictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by VESI, NFPA70E, and OSHA.
- Work with contractors and other temporary labor during on site activities.
- Use installed and portable test equipment, technical manuals, system drawings and electrical schematics to troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Field equipment programming and troubleshooting.
- Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous period of time and read and understand maps.
- The position requires being on-call to troubleshoot remotely if required.
- Must be able to travel overnight approximately 25% of the time out of the office by air, train or auto.

Pay rate:
80,0000-95,000

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong Electrical aptitude
○ Understand medium voltage (480V and higher)
○ Understand DC (direct current) voltage and AC voltage
○ Knowledge of safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout procedures and SPA 70 E
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (single-line and three- line diagrams)
- Skilled in using electrical testing equipment:
○ Multimeters
○ Meggers
○ Insulation resistance testers
○ Contact voltage testers
Must be able to climb ladders, climb to and work off of elevated platforms, ladders and walkways.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering
- Battery energy storage experience
- Basic understanding of process controls and PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control systems
Energy Storage experience (Utility scale solar generation it large scale fields)
