Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Medical Assistant for a top healthcare client in the Philadelphia area. This candidate will serve as a key member of the clinical team, supporting providers with patient care, laboratory functions, and administrative responsibilities. The ideal individual will be comfortable performing blood draws, handling laboratory specimens, documenting patient information within EPIC, and working in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical or healthcare setting
• Hands-on phlebotomy experience and blood draw proficiency
• Experience processing specimens and performing laboratory testing
• Recent experience using EPIC EMR
• Strong patient interaction and communication skills
• High School Diploma or GED
Plusses:
• Experience supporting multiple providers in a high-volume outpatient setting
• EPIC experience obtained through: (HIGHLY ENCOURAGED)
○ University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine), OR
○ Jefferson Health / Thomas Jefferson University Health System
• Background in primary care, internal medicine, or specialty practices
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Medical Assistant certification (not required)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Day-to-Day:
• Room and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient information
• Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection
• Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
• Conduct basic laboratory testing and assist with diagnostic procedures
• Administer injections and medications as directed by providers
• Document patient information accurately within EPIC EMR
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-up care
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, and clinical support staff
• Maintain stocked, clean, and organized examination rooms
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and clinical safety protocols
