Job Description
This role is responsible for leading Medicare (and some Medicaid) implementation and expansion initiatives with critically tight deadlines within a managed care environment. Reporting to the Portfolio Director of Growth and Implementations, the Senior Project Manager will manage multiple business workstreams by creating detailed project roadmaps, allocating resources, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external State Health Plan stakeholders. The PM will oversee the full project lifecycle—from planning and design through validation and execution.
Responsibilities include maintaining project plans and documentation, leading stakeholder meetings, tracking status and deliverables, forecasting budgets, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within scope. This role requires confidently driving executive-level conversations, motivating cross-functional teams, managing change control, and escalating risks and issues with proposed solutions to ensure successful, on-time project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in a Project Manager role, preferably within Medicare and/or Medicaid implementations
Strong, hands-on experience delivering Medicare/Medicaid business-focused healthcare implementation projects
Deep understanding of Medicare/Medicaid programs, managed care environments, and state health plan operations
Proven ability to deliver deadline-driven projects with high urgency and speed
Experience managing multiple projects and at least 3 workstreams per project
Strong executive presence with experience leading update meetings and presenting status to State and Health Plan executive leadership
Demonstrated ability to proactively manage risks/issues, escalate appropriately, and drive decisions to maintain timelines
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Outlook)
Strong understanding of project management methodologies
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Managed care or health plan expansion experience (Medicare growth / expansion initiatives)
Experience partnering directly with external State Plan stakeholders
Budget forecasting and reforecasting experience
Change management experience within complex healthcare implementations
