Job Description

A global industrial technology manufacturing company is seeking a highly-skilled Data Engineering Manager to join their enterprise Data Architecture & Strategy organization. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, business partners, and executive leadership to understand business requirements, promote best practices and to provide solutions that meet the goals of the organization. This individual will be expected to be both hands on within the tech stack and will oversee a global team. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in Data Engineering, experience working in a global environment, and Manufacturing industry experience. This is a remote, 3-6 month contract to hire opportunity, with expected travel once a quarter to PA.



Additional Details:



- Lead the design, development, and implementation of data architectures, data pipelines, and data systems for large enterprise projects including an on-prem to cloud migration

- Manage a team of data engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship

- Develop and maintain Data as an asset and operate large-scale data warehouse solutions and big data platforms

- Optimize existing and new data processes for efficiency, reliability, and scalability

- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for end-to-end data pipeline and strategy

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of experience in building complex IT solutions more focused on data pipeline (Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, DataLake, DeltaLake, Bigdata, Data Streaming, unstructured data, and data modeling for BI/AI solutions)

- Experience with AWS, pyspark, and python

- Strong hands-on experience in data architecture, data modeling, Could data engineering and ETL processes

- Experience managing a global team and working with business partners and executive leadership

- Expertise in dealing with data environments with high-data variability, and high-data volumes

- Expertise in integrating data pipeline from various systems (SAP and MES preferred)

- Experience supporting an on-prem to cloud migration

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
