Position Summary: One of Insight Global's major clients are seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join their team in Exton, PA or Orlando, FL, to lead and work on various Structural Engineer and Federal projects. The client is also willing to entertain fully remote candidate within the EST time zone. The position requires working on fast paced technically complex design/build projects in the Federal space. The ideal candidate applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the client to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials in other organizations. Responsibilities include:
* Prepare calculations determining building dead, live, wind, and seismic loads, and determine structural systems to support gravity and withstand lateral loads.
* Determine member stresses and sizes using structural analysis programs and back-check results using manual calculations.
* Design concrete foundations, retaining walls, steel frames, masonry walls for buildings.
* Coordinate architectural requirements of structural systems with architect, HVAC engineers, plumbing engineers, electrical engineers.
* Act as Lead Structural Engineer on projects and provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
* Execute projects varying in size with a focus on projects of larger scope and/or higher technical complexity.
* Prepare construction specifications.
* Participate in as-built drawing effort.
* Provide technical support during construction for all activities.
* Ensure the quality of design documents.
* Reinforce an atmosphere of safety and a commitment to design excellence.
* Complete Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
* Work directly with clients to define project requirements and deliver appropriate solutions to meet the stated needs based on a defined budget and schedule.
* Salary expectations: $125k-$150k

* Knowledge of RISA or STAADPro software is a plus.
* RevitStructure experience is a plus.
* Prefer experience in design-build or other alternative delivery
* Prefer both CONUS and OCONUS experience
* Prefer experience with progressive collapse & blast design
* Prefer NCEES model law SE and/or an SE in a western state such as CA, WA, OR, or AK
* DoD experience not required but strongly preferred
* Preferred experience in high seismic regions
