Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst for a large agriculture client in the Lancaster PA area. This position is ideal for a college student studying in the field of cybersecurity, providing an excellent opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world scenarios. The candidate will be learning and responsible for security monitoring, security awareness and training, policy and compliance, security audits, vulnerability scanning and management, vendor management, as well as any other duties assigned.

Responsibilities:
1. Security Monitoring:
Utilize security tools and technologies to monitor and analyze network traffic for potential security incidents, as well as monitor and manage security events.
Respond to security alerts and incidents promptly, escalating, as necessary.
Configure and fine-tune security tools to enhance detection capabilities.
2. Security Awareness and Training:
Develop and update security awareness training materials for employees.
Ensure that all users complete required cybersecurity training and understand common hacking techniques.
Monitor and follow up on security training compliance, providing additional support as needed.
3. Policy and Compliance:
Assist in the development, review, and enforcement of IT security policies and procedures.
Contribute to compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
4. Security Audits:
Participate in regular security audits to assess the effectiveness of security controls.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address findings and implement improvements.
5. Vulnerability Scanning & Management
Utilize vulnerability scanners to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
Collaborate with the IT team to remediate and mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
Assist in identifying, assessing, and prioritizing vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
Collaborate with the IT team to implement patches and fixes to address vulnerabilities.
6. Vendor Management:
Collaborate with vendors to assess and ensure the security posture of third-party products and services. Conduct regular security reviews of vendors, ensuring compliance with security standards and contractual obligations.
Work with vendors to address and remediate security issues in a timely manner.
7. Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Currently enrolled in a college program with a focus on cybersecurity, information security, or a related field.
Strong understanding of basic cybersecurity principles and concepts.
Familiarity with common security tools and technologies.
Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Basic knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (Microsoft shop, Jira)
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, ISO 27001).
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+,) a plus.
