Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in mathematical formulations, optimization techniques, and advanced analytical modeling. In this role, you will design and implement sophisticated optimization solutions that drive key business decisions, efficiency improvements, and product innovation. You will collaborate closely with data engineering, product, and business teams to solve complex, high‑impact problems through applied mathematics, statistical modeling, and machine learning.

What You’ll Do
• Develop, refine, and implement optimization models (linear programming, mixed‑integer programming, nonlinear optimization, stochastic optimization, etc.) for large‑scale business use cases.
• Transform ambiguous business questions into mathematical problem statements, selecting appropriate constraints, objective functions, and solution methods.
• Build and deploy end‑to‑end predictive models, simulation frameworks, and analytical pipelines.
• Apply advanced statistical, machine learning, and quantitative modeling techniques to large datasets.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, evaluate feasibility, and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Partner with data engineering to productionize optimization and ML models in scalable environments.
• Conduct model validation, scenario testing, and sensitivity analysis to ensure robustness and reliability.
• Communicate insights, model behavior, and recommendations to leadership through clear storytelling and visualization.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing around optimization and mathematical modeling best practices.
• Stay current on emerging methods, solvers, and computational techniques in optimization and applied mathematics.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline.
• 5–8+ years of experience building and implementing optimization models in real-world applications.
• Strong foundation in mathematical formulations:
○ Linear & Integer Programming (LP/MIP)
○ Nonlinear programming
○ Constraint programming
○ Stochastic or robust optimization
• Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (Pyomo, PuLP, SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, etc.).
• Experience working with large datasets and developing production-ready data science solutions.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, probability, and machine learning concepts.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain mathematical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
