Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer – Thermal Power who will lead the design, development, and execution of control system solutions for thermal power plant projects across North America. This role focuses on upgrading or replacing existing control systems with Emerson’s Ovation Distributed Control System (DCS). The engineer will own the full engineering lifecycle—from requirements and design through factory acceptance testing and commissioning—while ensuring customer satisfaction and technical excellence. This position requires strong collaboration with internal teams, A/E firms, and customers, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of engineering experience in a controls or automation environment
• Hands-on PLC or DCS control system design (Ovation, DeltaV, ABB, Honeywell, etc.)
• Experience with control logic, I/O configuration, PID loop tuning, and system integration
• Strong understanding of power generation systems, preferably thermal power
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and engineering design documents
Experience supporting FAT, commissioning, and project execution
