Job Description

Insight Global is seeking 3 Mid-level Java Developers to support a multi-national power management client of ours. This team will be updating and containerizing 48 applications that are running on older technologies (VM-based, older version of RHEL, lack of Maven, etc.). This is mainly backend responsibilities but there may be some small tweaking in terms of front-end code once it's moved over to the new server. These resources will be joining a team of 4 other developers and a lead. No functional/business logic changes to the applications is being done; it's all a technical upgrade.

Required Skills & Experience

* 5+ years total in IT with 3+ years' experience working in Java to made code adjustments as needed when moving to a new server (this is not NEW development)

* Proven knowledge on OOP (Object Oriented Programming) concepts.

* Experience with OpenShift products for containerization.

* Knowledge of build strategy of Maven

* Worked on at least one application server (JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic etc.)

o Moving to Tomcat 9 and/or Tomcat 10

* Experience/Understanding of Linux servers.

* Strong understanding of legacy web API's

* Experience with Source code control systems like ClearCase, Bitbucket / GitHub Web hooks or similar.

* Container Deployments with Docker & Kubernetes
