A client in Allentown, PA is looking to bring on aSMT Production Manager to join their team. This will be a permanent position, working Monday-Friday 7AM - 3:30 PM shifts. They will be managing an SMT assembly team of 20 in medium to high-mix complex PCBA environment. This position requires proficiency in technical documents, Microsoft Office tools, and strong analytical/problem solving skills. This role involved managing the team, assisting with process optimization, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire SMT manufacturing process, ensuring efficient and high-quality electronic component assembly
- Supervise and mentor SMT operators and technicians. This includes hiring, training, performance management, and fostering a positive team environment.
- Contribute to new product introduction preparation and troubleshooting production issues.
- Work with Production Planners to prioritize tasks, execute production plans, and meet delivery schedules.
- Continuously improve SMT yields. Identify the root cause of yield/ quality issues and develop corrective actions.
- Ensure production readiness of key processes in PCB assembly cycle.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to SMT processes, equipment, and components.

- Strong understanding of SMT processes required including solder paste printing, component placement, reflow soldering, hand soldering under a microscope, and inspection.
- Experience managing a team of 10+ individuals
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Engineering or Technical field
- 4+ years of related experience; Intimate SMT process experience is a must.
- Able to interpret assembly and fab drawings and the requirements within.
- Able to follow clean room and ESD policies, become familiar with and practice 6S principles in order to maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workplace
- Familiarity with 6S principles, ESD policies, and clean room policies
- Experience reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Fluent in Microsoft office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
