Job Description

An EPC company is seeking a remote Sr. Telecom Engineer to support their customers in the Data Center and AI cloud computing space. This individual will be supporting the full project lifecycle from early planning through final delivery. This engineer will contribute to all phases of the design process, including preliminary assessments, concept development, design production, and issue resolution. This individual may serve as Engineer of Record, provide coverage for project leads, and depending on workload, lead projects directly. The role often involves managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring schedules, quality, and technical requirements are met. Additional responsibilities include:
• Provide technical leadership for telecommunications systems supporting data center facilities, including structured cabling, wireless, audiovisual, and other low voltage systems
• Lead BIM designers in the preparation of coordinated engineering drawings
• Develop, modify, and maintain Division 27 (Telecommunications) specifications
• Conduct site visits and support construction phase activities
• Review technical documents, submittals, and designs for quality and compliance
• Serve as Engineer of Record, including signing and sealing telecommunications design packages
• Manage relationships with internal teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Mentor and support the development of junior telecommunications engineers and designers
• Collaborate with lead engineers and department managers to improve processes and operational efficiency
• Participate in quality assurance reviews of telecommunications designs prepared by others
• Support project startup, commissioning, and closeout activities
• Assist with proposal development, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling

Required Skills & Experience

-PE license required (any state)
-8+ years of experience designing or leading the design of telecommunications structured cabling systems
-Strong working knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
-Thorough understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC) as it applies to telecommunications systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience in telecommunications design experience supporting data center projects
- RCDD
- Familiarity with CSI or AIA specification writing standards
