A distribution and service company is seeking a Purchasing Manger to lead their procurement department. This individual will be overseeing 4 individuals and will be overseeing the procurement department to optimize the supply chain and create streamlined processes.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for cost reduction, supplier optimization, and risk management.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality goods and services.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Integrate systems and processes from mergers and acquisitions for seamless functionality.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to optimize costs and maximize value.
- Collaborate with S&OP Manager to manage inventory levels and avoid shortages.
- Identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities.
- Continuously improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Work with Product Managers and S&OP Manager to evaluate and select suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Present regular reports on procurement performance to executive leadership.

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or related field
- 2 or more years of experience within a leadership role specifically with managing people and teams
- 2 or more years of experience in within purchasing
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and cost management
- Strong experience within an ERP
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions and systems integrations
- Familiarity with the industrial equipment or distribution industry
