Job Description

A local government entity in Oregon is looking for a Public Works - Utility Operations Manager to join their team! This full-time hire will be dedicated to the planning, management, and oversight of daily functions within the city utilities division in relation to Water Distribution. You will develop and standardize procedures and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of city utility maintenance and environment programs. You will coordinate the work plans across divisions, to monitor workflow and review work products / methods / procedures. Part of the role will be management of employees and new hires, training and motivating employees and issuing the right disciplinary and termination actions where necessary. Most of this role is focused within the City's Water Distribution Division following the general direction of the Public Works Director, to ensure that the city is conforming with the right local, state, and federal laws and regulations. This position has a hybrid work environment, with flexibility to work remotely 50% of the time.

Required Skills & Experience

* Level IV Water Distribution Operator Certification, preference to attain certification in Oregon within 6 months of work if relocating from out of state.

* 5+ years of supervisory or management experience

* Strong communication skills, confidence to communicate across internal and external stakeholders
