Job Description
The BIM Modeler Lead is responsible for providing modeling efforts for both project delivery and standards. This is a member of the production team that will create most of the detailed drawings for a project and may function as a Detailer as determined by their supervisor. Knowledge of Autodesk Navis Works, Autodesk Design Review and working knowledge of 3D layout and design.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and update Revit models based on marked-up drawings, following EC standards
• Set up Revit views, manage electronic drawings, and maintain document organization/archiving
• Prepare drawing sets, download/upload project documents (SharePoint, FTP, etc.), and support transmittals
• Maintain confidentiality and protect company intellectual property
• Create and manage Revit worksets; support worksharing processes
• Translate verbal/written direction into accurate design documents
• Manipulate advanced Revit elements (families, views, sheets, schedules, filters, etc.)
• Import external files (spreadsheets, images, documents) into Revit projects
• Coordinate 3D models across trades and work with field teams on layout, prefabrication, and dimensioned drawings
• Support or lead laser scanning efforts and development of 3D models from scan data
• Participate in model-driven job layout and verify dimensions using tools like Total Station
• Train team members on Autodesk tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks)
• Assist in establishing and maintaining modeling standards
Manage document transmission and reproduction (plotters, printers, job site systems)

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Design Review
• Deep understanding of 3D layout, modeling, and coordination across trades
• Experience with Revit worksets, worksharing, and advanced modeling functions
• Familiarity with laser scanning and converting scan data to 3D models
• Ability to import and manage various file types within Revit
• Proficiency with printing/reproduction systems in office and field environments
• An electrical background is strongly preferred to support trade-specific modeling and coordination.
