Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Technician III / Lead to support large-scale data center infrastructure projects. This individual will act as a senior technical leader responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex deployments across mission-critical environments.
This role will provide hands-on leadership to junior technicians, serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues, and partner closely with project managers and customers to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, technically strong in data center infrastructure, and experienced leading teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Additional Information
• This role requires up to 70% travel to support projects across various customer sites
• Ability to work nights/weekends or extended hours during critical project phases

Required Skills & Experience
• 5–7+ years of experience in data center, telecom, or IT infrastructure environments
• Experience leading technical teams on large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, power distribution, and network hardware deployments
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, documentation, and project scopes
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Certifications such as BICSI, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Server+
• Experience working in hyperscale or large colocation data center environments
• Experience with fiber testing tools (OTDR, OLTS) and cable certification tools
