Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking for a Remote Mitel Engineer to design, install, configure, and support Unified Communication systems (ideally Mitel/ShoreTel products). This individual must sit in the PST time zone. The role includes supporting, upgrading and implementing phone systems as well as maintaining network hardware and software, ensuring system availability, and resolving complex technical issues.
The engineer will manage, and support tickets and has the expectation to provide thorough documentation within their ticketing system, collaborate with end-users to translate business needs into technical solutions, assist sales with pre-sales support, support implementations, document designs, and contribute to statements of work. Success in this role requires strong customer service, technical expertise within Unified Communication systems, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively as well as professionally across all organizational levels.
This is a heavy customer-facing role with an emphasis on one’s ability to provide excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate has extensive experience utilizing Mitel Application Suite, specifically with Mitel MiVoice Business as well as has experience with the implementation of phone systems.
Additional Details:
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and motor vehicle insurance (at least equal to the state’s minimum coverage requirements), as well as the ability to travel to customer locations and other destinations for short to medium term projects. (Travel is manageable).
• This position may also require an adjusted work schedule and evening hours in order to meet or attend to vendor/customer needs, as well as the flexibility to field phone calls, pager or system alerts and provide remote and/or on-site support to clients outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation range based off of experience: $73,500.00 – $114,000.00 (annually)

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred; alternatively, 5-7 years of relevant experience in IT networking and communications, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
• Significant experience with technologies from the following manufacturers: ADTRAN (huge bonus), Juniper, Cisco, and Mitel (ShoreTel).
• At least 1-3 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency utilizing Mitel Application Suite and Mitel MiVoice Business.
• Minimum of two years of Telecom experience as well as extensive experience providing technical support and implementation of phone systems. (Experience implementing MiVoice is a huge plus.)
• Experience with cloud-based solutions: Teams, Zoom, Slack, Google Meet, etc.
• Significant field experience and knowledge of data networking and IP technologies, including: VLAN configuration, Spanning-tree, and NAT.
• Significant experience working with technologies from Microsoft, including Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory and Group Policy, troubleshooting applications installed on both end-user PC’s and servers, and performing packet captures and analysis using appropriate tools (such as WireShark, etc.)
• Experience with VoIP technologies, including G.711, G.729, Voice Gateways, SIP, PRI, and Analog cross-connects.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be an experienced user of the Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools, such as Salesforce.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quotes and reports. Ability to correspond, effectively present information, and respond to questions from employees, management, vendors and customers.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience implementing phone systems, specifically implementing MiVoice Connect (Mitel Connect).
• ADTRAN is a good plus.
