Job Description

A large tire manufacturing company located in Bend, Or is looking to add a Network Engineer II to help perform intermediate level network engineering and operational tasks to support infrastructure, applications, and systems. This person is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing network infrastructure and application components. This Network Engineer II performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the network performance meets company and user satisfaction at Headquarters in Bend, OR, and the Operations Center in Prineville, OR.

Required Skills & Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Educational/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or 4-7 years of experience in designing, maintaining, and supporting Network systems in an enterprise or service provider environment
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification or equivalent

- Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:
Strong knowledge and troubleshooting skills of network functions, including switching, routing, VoIP, Wireless, and Firewalls (specifically with Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto)
Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (ex, DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, etc.)
Ability to configure and set up Firewalls, VPN Connections, and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
Design, set up, and configure complex wireless networking to support business requirements

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Level 2 support of escalated incidents to ensure the operational functionality of network systems. Accountable for troubleshooting, identifying, monitoring, and installing solutions for various network issues, including, but not limited to:
Administer and monitor network infrastructure such as switches, routers, wireless networks, firewalls, etc
Identify and resolve solution-related issues (applications, data or architecture)
Address network and infrastructure issues, providing root cause analysis and resolution
Assist in the design, configuration, and administration of new technologies and complex network environments
Assist other departments in troubleshooting problems, including client workstations, phones, server equipment, and applications etc.
Report issues/concerns that affect the operational stability of any production system or environment to management. Participates in on-call rotation, emergency meetings, and actions to resolve major outages of the server, networking, or telecom. Complete other duties as assigned.
