Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join the Counterparty Credit Risk/Market Risk group at a leading financial institution in downtown Toronto. This role is part of a strategic, multi-year initiative aimed at replacing the existing Counterparty Credit Risk database.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with front-office stakeholders, including traders and investors, to comprehensively understand and document the database requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate the identified requirements to technology teams, including data modelers and developers, to facilitate the development of the new database.
- Reviewing testing and Validation: Overseeing the technology team while they perform the testing phase to ensure the new database meets all specified requirements and aligns with established risk management metrics.
Other Responsibilities in the Role:
Help design and build the Pre-Deal Check and Intra-day capabilities for the future state of the Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) Infrastructure.
Collaborate on the development of an in-house Pre-Deal Check platform and Intra-day calculator working closely with various stakeholders within the Front Office
Work closely with multiple project workstreams to define and map interactions across future-state CCR systems.
Work with various stakeholders to determine priority of deliverables to ensure incremental value add.
Support Front Office Technology by defining risk requirements to calculate intra-day exposure and perform limit checks across various credit scenarios and product types.
Work with Risk Models to determine appropriate techniques are applied for fast and efficient risk calculations.
Develop testing plans, analyze results, and provide ongoing support during implementation.
Explore ways to leverage on existing infrastructure for interim solutions, including intra-day message logic and scenario analysis.
Assess the impact of system migration on different user groups and assist in communication and training efforts (Credit Officers, Traders, Sales, Corporate Bankers, Market Risk users).
Identify and onboard customers to the new solution based on historical data and business interactions.

- 5+ years of experience in Capital Market Risk, specifically in Counterparty Credit Risk and/or Market Risk.
- Strong understanding of risk management metrics (Ex./ PFE, VaR, CVA, MTM)
- Strong understanding of financial products (Ex./ derivatives, bonds, equities, stocks, loans)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Hands-on experience with stakeholder management and collaborating with front-office (Ex./ traders, investors) and technology teams (Ex./ developers, data modelers)
- Hands-on experience identifying and gathering requirements
- Experience with data modeling
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
- Experience with risk systems and/or front office systems in a financial institution (Ex/ risk calculators, trading systems)
- Experience with change management activities, including readiness assessments and stakeholder management
- Consulting or advisory experience in a Capital Markets, Counterparty Credit Risk, and/or Market Risk environment.
