Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Data Governance Consultant to join a top bank in downtown Toronto for a 9-month contract to support the Risk division. The successful individual will have a strong background in data governance, preferably with knowledge of the BCBS 239 guideline and RDARR. This role will support a regulatory remediation project, including standing up new frameworks and risk requirements while supporting operationalization of the framework.

The right candidate will be resourceful and successful in working in ambiguous environments. This role will require stakeholder management and collaboration across multiple cross-functional lines of business.


Key Responsibilities:
· Develop procedures and templates for the implementation of the bank’s RDARR Guideline
· Engage with report owners across Risk and Finance to create a tiered inventory of reports subject to RDARR expectations
· Create a mapping of data quality controls and control effectiveness specific to RDARR reports, leveraging the bank’s existing controls development, monitoring & testing program
· Develop methodology, guidance, and templates for quality assurance testing of RDARR reports and underlying data
Develop an internal assessment program for adherence to RDARR expectations based on controls & assurance testing and self-assessments by risk groups and report owners

Required Skills & Experience

- 4-7+ years of Data Governance experience within a large bank, specifically designing or implementing Data Governance (ideally RDARR compliance programs) for financial institutions
- Knowledge of the BCBS 239 Guideline and other industry guidance for data governance, aggregation, and risk risk
- Experience developing requirements for financial or risk reports for regulators and management
- Experience with designing a testing program for quality assurance testing of reports
- Experience with risk and controls monitoring programs and/or regulatory compliance assessments

Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in a Category 1-3 bank is ideal, specifically in data governance and reporting.
- Familiarity with Informatica and/or Manta data governance systems is an asset.
- Familiarity with Axiom and/or QRM is an asset.
