Insight Global is seeking a Data Risk Appetite Expert in data management and metrics to support a top bank in downtown Toronto. The individual will provide management consulting services and technology/industry expertise to support business and enterprise needs. Liaise with stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities, facilitate the organization's goals by understanding the business vision, objectives, key performance indicators, and key quality standards, and ensure approval by all relevant stakeholders. This Data Metrics individual will promote new processes and methodologies, emerging technologies, and agile, and align to the unique project team requirements.
This individual needs to understand and articulate the business case of business questions and the estimated value being delivered. They will also design dashboards and analyses to be performed, and appropriate visualization and analytics tools to use. They will provide value through insights, reporting, and data visualization techniques.
The candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and insights in the industry related to Data and Analytics.
- Develop Key Risk Indicators & Key Performance Indicators related to Risk.
- Facilitate discussions and follow a structured approach to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and manage requirements with stakeholders.
- Provide thought leadership in the development of new ideas, processes, and emerging technology.
- Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor and define business requirements for analytics and reporting.
- Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies for internal/external stakeholders.
- Identify emerging issues and trends to inform data-driven decision-making.
- Recommend business priorities, advise on resource requirements, and develop roadmaps for strategic execution.
- Break down strategic problems, analyze data an information to provide insight/recommendations, and lead change management.
- Complete root-cause analysis to determine underlying causes and participate in problem resolution for complex issues.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the IT consulting capability and share expertise to promote technical development to all levels within IT and across business groups.
- Assess the quality of supporting documentation, including business and process requirement documents, to ensure proper analysis support recommendations or demonstrate continued alignment to strategic objectives.

- 7+ years of experience in data management, including data risk appetite.
- Hands-on experience creating KPIs and developing risk metrics related to regulatory requirements through data analytics (4+ years).
- Previous experience in 1st or 2nd line risk at a bank.
- Experience implementing data management procedures and programs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
- DCAM Certified.
- Six Sigma
