Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Product Engineer to join a growing HR technology company in a full time permanent position. This role is a net new headcount to support company growth and is a hybrid opportunity requiring the successful candidate to work onsite every Monday in downtown Toronto. The Product Engineer will operate in a blended software engineering and product management capacity, helping define, design, and deliver new features for an AI product that is currently in production. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with the team during daily stand-ups and one-week sprints, gathering and writing product requirements, developing technical specifications, defining new features, and using AI-assisted workflows and agents to support product development. The successful candidate will be comfortable orchestrating multiple AI agents while maintaining strong software development and product-quality principles.

Required Skills & Experience

- 4–6+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer within the HR technology domain
- Previous product management experience, with the ability to independently define, design, and engineer product features
- 1+ year of experience developing or managing agentic AI workflows, including orchestration pipelines, evaluations, and LLM-based agent models
- Experience working with agentic AI or orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Mastra, or similar technologies
- Strong engineering experience with open-source technology stack, including Node.js, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL
- Experience using Claude Code, Claude Design, or comparable AI-assisted software development tools
- Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
- Strong understanding of software development principles and the ability to maintain engineering quality within AI-assisted development workflows
- Ability to gather requirements, write product and technical specifications, and translate business needs into actionable engineering solutions
- Product-focused mindset with a demonstrated passion for building a number of high-quality, impactful features
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sprint-based environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Previous experience building or enhancing an AI product in a startup or early-stage product environment
