Position: Pega Developer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pega Developer to join the Distribution Technology line of business at CIBC. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing Pega applications, with a strong focus on initiatives related to the Compass application, one of CIBC’s core workflow and case-management platforms.
This position requires someone who is highly skilled in Pega development, understands CIBC’s technology ecosystem, and can operate effectively in a fast‑paced, enterprise banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement Pega solutions aligned with business and technical requirements within the Distribution Technology portfolio.
Enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot components within the Compass application.
Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—business stakeholders, QA, architects, and project managers—to ensure high-quality delivery.
Optimize Pega workflows, rules, and integrations to improve performance and stability.
Develop documentation, technical specifications, and deployment artifacts.
Ensure compliance with CIBC development standards, security policies, and SDLC processes.
Support production issues, defects, and release activities as required.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Pega development experience (Pega PRPC, BPM, workflows, case management).
Previous CIBC experience – strong understanding of CIBC’s development environment, tooling, and governance processes.
Hands-on experience working on the Compass application at CIBC, including knowledge of its architecture, integrations, workflows, and operational processes.
Strong understanding of Pega rulesets, data modeling, integrations (REST/SOAP services), UI components, and declarative rules.
Experience delivering Pega solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
Ability to work in agile teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Nice-to-Have Skills

Pega CSSA or CLSA certification.
Experience with cloud-based Pega deployments.
Understanding of banking/financial services workflows.
Familiarity with CIBC-specific tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and OpenShift.
