Job Description
The OpenShift Platform Engineer will join CIBC Engineering Shared Services team supporting enterprise OpenShift and Kubernetes environments across Capital Markets. This role is responsible for the operational support, maintenance, and optimization of containerized platform services that enable application teams across the bank.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support for OpenShift clusters, troubleshoot platform and application deployment issues, perform cluster administration activities, and work closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure platform stability and reliability. This role combines infrastructure support, platform engineering, and technical troubleshooting within a large-scale enterprise environment.
The engineer will support production and non-production environments, assist with platform upgrades and configuration management, and contribute to maintaining operational excellence across CIBC container platform ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience
-4+ years of hands-on experience supporting OpenShift (can be redhat) and/or Kubernetes environments
-Comfortable working with the following tools/technology: RHEL Linux OS, Gitops, Github, Shell Scripting, Microsoft Azure, Prometheus, Grafana.
-Experience administering and supporting OpenShift clusters in production environments
-Proven experience troubleshooting cluster, platform, and application deployment issues
-Background working within enterprise infrastructure support or platform operations teams
-Solid knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, including networking, storage, and cluster management
-Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
-Experience partnering with developers and application teams to resolve platform-related issues
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to support multiple stakeholders
-Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience supporting applications hosted in a cloud/containerized environment.
Prior work in a financial institution.
Familiarity with CI/CD, YAML, or automation tools.
