Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Engineer to support a critical front‑office trading application that is currently a major focus area for our client. This role will act as an additional senior technical leader, helping to stabilize the application, improve reliability, and reduce pressure on existing leads.
This is a long‑term contract role supporting a high‑visibility trading platform used by front‑office users across equities, FX, and futures. The Lead Engineer will work closely with traders, product owners, and engineering peers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while remaining hands‑on with the codebase.
The role requires a strong balance of technical execution, stakeholder management, and production support, with meaningful influence over a team of engineers.

Act as a senior technical leader to help stabilize the platform and improve overall system reliability.
Translate business and product owner requirements into well‑designed technical solutions.
Remain hands‑on with development (~30%), contributing to core application code and fixes.
Engage heavily with stakeholders, including traders, product owners, and engineering peers (30–40% of time).
Participate in production support, incident response, and issue resolution.
Collaborate closely with other lead engineers to influence technical direction and best practices.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a small team (5–10 engineers) without formal direct reports.
