Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Backend Development Lead to join a customer-facing digital platform initiative. This individual will provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with development, helping drive delivery of new backend services, enhancements, and change requests within a modern cloud-native environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering large-scale digital banking or online customer platforms and a strong track record building serverless applications using AWS technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead backend development efforts for customer-facing digital applications.
Act as the technical lead for a team supporting new platform enhancements and change initiatives.
Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
Provide architectural guidance and development best practices across backend services.
Partner with product, architecture, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver features and change requests.
Review code, mentor developers, and provide technical leadership throughout the SDLC.
Support solution design decisions related to serverless and container-based architectures.
Drive delivery within an Agile environment and contribute to overall program success.

Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of backend software development experience.
Proven experience in a Technical Lead or Development Lead capacity.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS Lambda (critical requirement).
Deep understanding of AWS serverless architecture and event-driven development.
Experience building and supporting high-volume customer-facing digital platforms.
Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native application development.
Experience working within large enterprise environments delivering production-scale solutions.
Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on coding responsibilities.
Extensive experience leading backend development in AWS environments, with strong hands-on AWS Lambda expertise and experience supporting customer-facing digital applications.
