Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a short-term, large-scale data migration. The role focuses on migrating legal case management data from a long-standing legacy SQL-based system into Microsoft Dataverse, enabling delivery of a new model-driven Power App. This migration involves terabyte-scale data volumes and requires careful planning and execution of both an initial full migration and a delta migration aligned to a defined go-live event.

Required Skills & Experience

Significant experience as a Data Engineer, with demonstrable delivery of cloud-based data pipelines (typically 6+ years).
Strong hands-on experience with:
Azure Data Factory
Azure Service Bus
Azure Data Lake
Azure SQL
Azure Key Vault
Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, including data mapping, transformation logic, and error handling.
Proven ability to clearly document data flows, lineage, and transformation rules.
Experience working with legacy systems and delivering complex data migrations.
Knowledge of data privacy and protection requirements (e.g. FOIPOP), including implementation of controls around PII.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience supporting public sector or government data programmes.
Experience working on large-scale or time-bound migration projects.
Familiarity with Power Platform and Dataverse migrations.
