Job Description

A top financial banking client is seeking a Corporate Actions Associate to join its Capital Markets operations team. Looking for a professional to provide daily corporate actions support across firm trading and equity finance accounts, managing the full life cycle processing of all North American corporate action events across multiple entities. The position supports Canadian trades and positions across five business entities spanning North America and Europe and involves close daily interaction with trading desks, operations groups, internal partners, and institutional counterparties to ensure accurate elections, entitlement setup, and timely reconciliations. This person will be expected to monitor and clear cash and stock breaks, manage complex and high risk corporate actions, oversee short positions and pending trades to mitigate exposure, maintain key controls, identify and escalate risk issues, and acting as a subject matter expert for corporate actions and entitlements. The role also contributes to process improvement initiatives, documentation, and departmental projects, including system integrations, with an initial implementation period followed by a steady-state BAU focus once accounts are fully migrated.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years’ experience in asset servicing, with a Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a voluntary corporate actions’ role.
- Strong banking/financial industry knowledge
- Bachelors degree with a solid mathematics component, or an equivalent field
- Strong Understanding of voluntary election arbitrage
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian BPS, CDS, DTC and Microsoft office applications such as Excel
- The ability to spot gaps, therefore risk, in the process, with the corresponding ability to provide workable solutions
- Solid understanding of business unit’s risk and regulatory requirements

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Additional System Knowledge: BNP Neolink, Global One, FIS XSPRISA, IMatch, Global Frame Work
- Experience servicing cash Prime Brokerage clients
