Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Active Directory Security Consultant with a strong background in hardening on-prem AD environments. This role requires a self-starter who can assess the current setup, analyze logs, identify vulnerabilities, and implement security best practices. The consultant will work closely with internal engineering teams and application SMEs to strengthen AD infrastructure security. This is a 12 month contract, hybrid in Toronto every Tuesday and 2nd Friday of the month.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive AD hardening plan.
Review and analyze Active Directory logs for security gaps.
Assess current AD configuration and recommend improvements.
Remove insecure protocols and remediate AD ACLs and trusts.
Perform PowerShell scripting for reporting and remediation tasks.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure secure AD operations.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in Active Directory infrastructure support with a security focus.
Expertise in:
AD ACLs and AD trusts
PowerShell scripting for automation and remediation
Protocols: LDAP, Kerberos, PKI
Strong understanding of DNS in AD environments.
Ability to work independently and drive initiatives without heavy oversight.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Quest tools.
Knowledge of NTLM/SMB remediation.
Financial industry experience and familiarity with legacy applications on AD infrastructure.
