Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Category Manager for a one-year contract. This role, arising from internal movements post-project, focuses on indirect procurement with one of our largest automotive clients. The successful candidate will be part of our Procurement team, part of our broader Finance and come from a Marketing background. The ideal candidate will act as a conduit between vendors and internal stakeholders while maintaining fairness, calmness under pressure, and clarity in communications. Previous incumbents have not necessarily come from a strict procurement background; however, technical experience remains vital.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years experience in category management with a preference for those who have managed marketing categories.
3+ years of experience with procurement ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Demonstrated experience in procurement advocacy is essential.
Strategic sourcing experience is necessary; must be able to build support for the business through this function.
Operational knowledge combined with vendor management skills are important aspects of this role.
3+ years of experience with procurement ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Experience working with internal and external parties to identify business requirements, design and implement business solutions, monitor vendor performance and/or resolve issues with diplomacy
Understanding of Contract Management principles
Understanding of Finance; Awareness of accounting principles is an asset
Knowledge of financial systems, processes and internal controls over financial information
Ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Advanced program management skills, ability to lead sourcing events, influence key decision-makers, and build successful partnerships with internal business units

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Exceptional communication skills are mandatory; must communicate with diplomacy at all levels internally and externally.
High emotional intelligence (EQ) along with sufficient expertise and acumen in procurement practices are crucial attributes for success in this position.
