Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Director of Benefits and Compensation for a large enterprise.
Reporting to the SVP HR & Chief Ethics Officer, this position is responsible for acting as the
Leader for the Compensation, Benefits and Organization Design portfolio. The
Director supervises a team of expert professionals to lead company wide services and
programs such as setting the direction and planning for the company's total compensation strategy to ensure we the organization is able to attract and retain the right type of talent to meet
business needs. Reporting to the board on a host of matters related to total rewards
(pension, compensation, benefits). Manage the departments responsible for the delivery of compensation, pension and
benefits products and services.
Manage third party providers to ensure effective operation and adherence to
specified requirements. Identify and implement changes and enhancements to
services and systems as required.
Manage the annual compensation program, developing strategic direction for
approval by Senior Executives.
Lead or participate in committees/task forces and high-level studies for the purpose
of reviewing or exploring strategic issues related to all areas of total compensation.
Develop conclusions and recommendations. This includes an active role in
preparing the organization for rate applications as they specifically relate to total
compensation and acting as a witness on the Board panel as required in support of future rate applications.
Manage Labour Relations issues associated with pension, benefits and
compensation including the analysis of information and development of strategic
direction in the preparation of agendas and material for bargaining.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years experience working within senior management role (Senior Manager, Director, or Sr. Director)
- 8-10 years of experience within compensation and benefits at a large enterprise, preferably for a company with unionized employees
- Proven track record of delivering results as part of a total compensation team, with accountability for all facets of the compensation programs. Comprehensive understanding of effective, current and emerging practices, issues, insights, tactics, and trends in total rewards;
- Comfortable owning a program, presenting on this, and changes to senior leadership and the board
- Experience with pay per performance (understanding this bonus structure, score carding) to apply this to merit and bonuss per group understanding how to create these programs and change the program, budgeting around pay per performance
- Education University Degree (Business, HRetc)
- Experience working for a highly regulated business (government, healthcare, oil/gas, energy) and presenting and working alongside board members
- Experience using HR systems (SAP preferred)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- - Industry experience from a highly regulated industry such as utilities, energy, mining,
- Compensation certification program
- Previous experience working for a unionized organization with a multi-union presence and compensation committee/management boards with similar compensation structures, such as defined benefit pension plan structure.
Solid experience and working knowledge of HRIS and compensation systems are required. Experience working with SAP, or SAP Employee Central or SAP Service Hub, and SuccessFactors is an asset;
