Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Digital Operations & Automation Lead to join a top retail client in Toronto to own and advance the ad operations function. They will be responsible for digital media operations and functional implementation for the internal Programmatic, Social, and Search programs.

In addition, they will provide operational, creative, and analytical automation leadership across both internal and external teams. The Digital Operations & Automation Lead will mentor team members on how to effectively complete operational tasks, educate stakeholders about Ad Operations, and facilitate the exploration of innovation opportunities. They will have one direct report in this role.

This role is designed for a creative person who enjoys people management and program building. Someone who can step beyond day-to-day execution, bring a fresh perspective, and modernize how we operate, measure, and buy media programmatically. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who understands ad operations deeply, supports hands-on troubleshooting when needed, and proactively brings ideas, efficiencies, and innovation to stakeholders and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Trafficking & Creative Management
• Lead campaign trafficking across all Programmatic campaign setups, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and on time delivery
• Create, organize, and manage all digital media audience and conversion pixels across platforms
• Oversee the implementation and QA of tags attached to creative to support go to market execution, optimization, and measurement
• Partner with internal teams to define, create, and activate addressable audiences across all digital media platforms
• Ideate, manage, and communicate results from Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) testing to influence future creative and media strategies
• Act as a liaison with internal and external partners to manage the day to day accuracy and functionality of product feeds that power product and price based creative units
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and cross platform tools to enhance trafficking, creative execution, and measurement capabilities
• Partner with Digital Marketing and Analytics teams to plan and implement annual media priorities across enterprise channels
• Lead Digital Operations meetings with cross functional stakeholders (internal and external) to align on priorities, performance, and operational improvements
• Inform, maintain, and continuously improve Digital Operations workflows across Programmatic, Search, and Social teams
• Develop and document best practices for digital operations across channels and proactively communicate updates to the broader digital organization

Ad Tech & Automation
• Lead the development and implementation of automated operational and creative capabilities across Programmatic, Search, and Social campaigns
• Own, manage, troubleshoot, and enhance internal operations tools, including automated trafficking and workflow applications
• Work alongside channel leads to design and introduce innovative tools that support campaign building, optimization, QA, and reporting
• Proactively identify opportunities for operational innovation, automation, and testing, reducing manual and repetitive processes
• Drive smarter, more efficient programmatic buying by improving processes, targeting frameworks, and measurement approaches
• Facilitate ongoing education and enablement for Digital Ad Operations, elevating operational maturity and consistency

• Proactively bring ideas, recommendations, and solutions to stakeholders and leadership
• Partner cross functionally with Analytics, Media, and other teams to evolve the program

Required Skills & Experience

• University or college degree in a related area of study, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the following areas:

Ad Operations & Programmatic Expertise
• Strong hands on experience with tag management platforms, including:
o Google Tag Manager (GTM)
o CM360 (Campaign Manager 360)
o Experience with additional tag management tools is a plus
• Solid understanding of programmatic buying mechanics, including:
o Private Marketplaces (PMPs)
o Open auctions and bid dynamics
o Programmatic Guaranteed (PG / PGP) environments
• Hands on experience with Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), such as:
o DV360 (preferred)
o The Trade Desk
o Amazon DSP

Leadership & Operational Excellence
• Proven ability to lead innovation and drive operational efficiency
• Experience managing people or strong experience leading and influencing cross functional partners. Strong ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
• Strong conceptual thinker who can translate ideas into practical, scalable solutions
• Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands on problem solving when needed

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Agency experience is a strong asset
• Experience building or significantly evolving an ad operations function
• Experience in media buying and Ad Trafficking in a retail environment is a plus.
• Any media platform certifications considered an asset.
