Job Description

The Technical Field Advisor is responsible for preparing, directing and controlling the different phases of field operations for a project. This role is crucial to ensure that site works are completed safely, at the required quality standards, on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction sites management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering, or a related technical discipline
· Equivalent technical diploma with substantial hydro or power plant construction experience may be considered.
· Minimum of 5 years of prior hydro electric generator experience, preferably in a supervisor capacity
· Strong technical knowledge of hydroelectric plant systems and structures
· Minimum of 5-years in mechanical installation of shaft lines, turbines or generators
· Excellent computer skills and MS office knowledge

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Actively respect all safety instructions detailed in the site EHS plan and being proactive on all safety related topics at the work site
· Report any quality issues and non-conformities and ensure the site quality plan is respected at every step of the work
· Ability to lead, motivate and empower staff
· Perform skilled duties involving shaft line alignment, bearing settings, mechanical precision tools and measurements, setting on-site machining tools
· Read and understand manuals, drawings, plans and specifications.
· Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
· Work under pressure
