Senior Technical Business Analyst

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join a leading Courier and Logistics company in Mississauga. This role can be fully remote but it would be strongly preferred if the selected candidate could visit the HQ in Mississauga for certain meetings.

This role supports the customer's International Channels Platform (ICP), a critical customer‑facing system used for international shipping and integrations. The project is entering a new phase starting around June, with a strong focus on improving leverage and outcomes with a third‑party automation vendor by strengthening internal requirements, process ownership, and delivery discipline. A key outcome of this phase is to enable our customer to reduce dependency on the vendor by driving clearer requirements, better backlog management, and more effective use of automation and AI.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

- Own end‑to‑end functional requirements for the ICP platform and translate them into high‑quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items
- Actively manage the Jira backlog, including grooming, prioritization, sprint planning support, and backlog quality
Partner closely with a separate technical delivery team, ensuring functional requirements are clearly broken down and ready for execution
- Lead or actively support daily scrums and backlog refinement, bringing structure and discipline to sprint execution
- Serve as the functional right‑hand to the Product Owner, balancing internal stakeholder needs with external customer and vendor considerations
- Work extensively with external customers, vendors, and internal teams to support go‑to‑market initiatives, onboarding models, and customer migration strategies
- Support the design of new customer onboarding and support models as the platform evolves

This role requires someone who can ramp up quickly, take ownership, and drive process, rather than relying on hand‑holding or external task management.

- 5-10 years of experience as a technical/functional business analyst at a large enterprise within a project environment
- Draft requirements, identify gaps, validate outputs, efficiency
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, nonfunctional requirements, and error handling
- Ability to draft API design technical workflows
- Experience with REST API’s and knowledge of sync/async concepts
- Experience with liaison between business and technical and communicating in sprints on what may be possible/realistic within each team
- AI (co-pilot and claude) experience as a user to complete requirements and have find efficiencies

- Jira and Confluence experience
