Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join a leading Courier and Logistics customer. This is a hybrid role based in Mississauga and requires 2-3x/week on site with potential travel to the US for project kickoff.

The Senior Business Analyst will support a large-scale enterprise systems transformation. This role will play a critical part in assessing current processes, defining future-state requirements, and enabling a multi-year system modernization initiative.
This individual will be responsible for producing high-quality business and functional requirements that directly support development teams in estimating, designing, and delivering new capabilities across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Backlog Development
- Decompose complex business capabilities into clear, well-structured user stories
- Write detailed acceptance criteria (Given/When/Then format) to ensure requirements are testable and actionable
- Prioritize requirements using structured frameworks (e.g., MoSCoW) and support estimation activities
- Maintain a centralized backlog, including dependencies, risks, and status tracking

Stakeholder Engagement
- Conduct interviews and working sessions with both business and technical stakeholders
- Facilitate requirement walkthroughs and estimation sessions with multiple delivery teams
- Act as the bridge between business users, architects, and engineering teams

Process & Data Analysis
- Analyze and document current-state processes, workflows, and system interactions
- Create end-to-end process flow diagrams and data flow models
Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and system alignment

Solution Alignment & Delivery Support
- Collaborate with solution architects to support target-state design and system decisions
- Ensure requirements align with enterprise architecture and integration strategies
- Support roadmap development and provide input into costing and business case development

Documentation & Deliverables
- Produce structured deliverables including:
a) Requirements backlog
b) Process and data flow diagrams
c) Supporting documentation for executive review and planning

- Maintain high standards of documentation quality, consistency, and traceability

Required Skills & Experience

1) Proven Experience on Large System Transformation
- Hands-on BA experience on at least one:
a) System replacement
b) Legacy decommission
c) ERP or TMS migration

Must clearly show their role in requirements + delivery impact (not just participation)

2) Advanced User Story & Backlog Ownership
- Experience creating hundreds of user stories tied to a large program
Strong at:
a) Breaking down complex capabilities into 5–15 stories
b) Writing clear, testable acceptance criteria

Has worked on backlogs that were used for estimation by external or downstream teams. This is THE core of the role (arguably 50–60% of the job).

3) Strong Facilitation with Technical Teams
-Has led working sessions with multiple delivery teams or vendors
Comfortable handling:
a)Pushback from architects/dev leads
b)Estimation sessions
c)Not just note-taking — actively driving decisions and clarity

Critical because they’ll be running weekly estimation sessions across multiple teams.

4) Senior-Level BA (True Senior / Lead)
- 8–10+ years total BA experience
Multiple years operating at Senior or Lead level

5) Strong Process & Data Modeling Skills
- Proven ability to create:
a) End-to-end process flows (swimlanes)
b) Data flow diagrams

Comfortable mapping:
a) Systems interactions
b) Data ownership / movement

They’re producing 19+ diagrams + architecture inputs.

6) Technical Integration Awareness
Practical understanding of:
- APIs or system integrations
- Data flows between systems

Doesn’t need to be deeply technical, but must speak credibly with architects .They will be decomposing integration-heavy functionality.

7) Industry Context (Operations-Heavy Environment)
- Experience in at least one:
a)Logistics / supply chain
b)Transportation / freight
OR similar complex operations environment
