Our client is looking for a Director of Salesa commercial leader who can build structure from the ground up, manage a growing team, drive sales discipline, and lead the U.S. market expansion. Youll be responsible for developing go-to-market strategy, shaping account management practices, and driving profitable deal structures.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Management Leadership
Establish a true account management model across Canada and the U.S.
Grow and mentor a team of 3 Account Managers and 2 Inside Sales Reps
Implement forecasting, account planning, business reviews, and team KPIs
Lead day-to-day tactical execution while thinking long-term (12 years out)
Commercial Strategy & U.S. Market Growth
Build and execute U.S. go-to-market strategy with distribution partners
Represent U.S. commercial interests and develop market-specific offerings
Lead strategic customer negotiations (hardware, software, licensing)
Develop creative deal structures that align with customer needs and profitability targets
Own revenue, margin, and licensing models across markets
Cross-Functional Leadership
Navigate internal change with a team historically resistant to new sales processes
Collaborate with product, finance, and IT on pricing, customer engagement, and solution delivery
Partner with procurement and move beyond IT-driven sales relationships

Bachelors degree in business administration, management, or similar discipline
Must-Haves
57+ years of sales leadership experience (Director or Sr. Manager level) within POS, technology or C-store/ oil and gas
Proven success building or scaling a sales team
Strong account management experience and commercial mindset
Ability to lead change and influence in a structured but evolving company
Financial acumen: pricing models, value-based selling, licensing negotiations
Comfortable structuring creative, non-traditional deals to close sales
Strong communication, internal alignment, and stakeholder management skills
