Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Intermediate Automation Designer to join a leading automation company. The candidate will be joining the mechanical engineering team to assist in designing custom mechanical solutions for their respective life sciences clients'. This individual will be responsible for the designing, analyzing, creating, and implementation of mechanical systems and components ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. This individual will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, analyzing engineering drawings, producing work drawings, and providing design support. This is an extremely hands on position and must have experience in high speed automation and hands-on experience in automation mechanical design, SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of pneumatics. The successful candidate will be required to come into the Cambridge location 1/2 times within a 6 month period - mostly remote.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of experience within automation mechanical design within a high speed automation environment (40-50 parts per min)
- Proficiency in Solid Works
- Strong working knowledge with pneumatics and electrical devices
- Experience designing tooling from sketches or verbal concepts
- Strong written oral communication with a self starter attitude and teamwork skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Servo experience
- Solid Works Professional CSWP
