Job Description
A large oil and gas operator is hiring a Sr. Electrical Designer to join their Design and Drafting Team. The Sr. Electrical Designer is responsible for assisting Engineering and Operations to ensure compliance with the Facility Data Management Programs. Daily responsibilities include:
- Updating and maintaining Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Grounding Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, etc.
- Internal and external communication to determine needs and satisfaction
- Reviewing and verifying that the plans, designs, drawings, and maps match to applicable codes, standards, specifications and the requirements of internal business partners
- Ensuring the design and delivery of drawings is done with a quick turnaround from conception to as-built state and continue the maintenance and updates afterwards
The type of drawings and documents may include: Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Schematics, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Cause and Effect Matrixes, Relief System Design data, etc.
This individual must be a go-getter, leader, be able to hit the ground running, and work in the office 3+ days per week.

Required Skills & Experience
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent experience
Experienced in instrumentation design for Compressor Stations, Meter Stations, and Mainline Valve Sites
Broad level of knowledge concerning industry codes, standards and practices such as ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, ISA, NEC, ACCI, AISC, UBC, ASCE, NFPA, AWS, NACE, IBC, etc.
5-10 years of electrical design experience in oil and gas industry
3+ years would have focused on independent design assignments
Heavy Electrical and Instrumentation background
Experienced in AutoCAD and AutoCAD-compatible software such as CADWorx Plant and CADWorx P&ID
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
10-15 years of design and drafting experience within the oil and gas industry
Pipeline design experience
