Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior OpenShift Consultant with deep expertise in deploying and operating Red Hat OpenShift on bare metal in highly secure, mission‑critical environments, requiring an active U.S. Secret clearance or higher. This role is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end design, deployment, and operationalization of OpenShift clusters on physical infrastructure, including IPI and UPI installs, networking, storage, automation, and lifecycle management, often within air‑gapped or restricted networks. The consultant will implement enterprise‑grade security and compliance controls such as STIGs, FIPS 140‑2, CIS benchmarks, and RMF requirements; establish GitOps and infrastructure‑as‑code workflows using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Argo CD; configure monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery; and integrate CI/CD pipelines to enable secure, scalable application delivery. Serving as a trusted technical advisor, the Senior OpenShift Consultant will lead customer engagements, produce architecture and operational documentation, support ATO and audit efforts, and mentor platform and DevSecOps teams. Qualified candidates typically have 7–10+ years of Linux or platform engineering experience, 5+ years with Kubernetes, 3–5+ years with OpenShift in production—specifically on bare metal—strong automation and security expertise, experience supporting DoD or other regulated environments, and the ability to travel to and operate within classified customer sites.
