Job Description
Insight Global is looking to add a Fire Alarm and Security Technician to their client’s team. This person will be responsible for the safe installation, programming, inspection, and ongoing service of low voltage life safety and security systems, including fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and intercom systems. This role involves installing system components and structured cabling throughout commercial facilities in accordance with applicable electrical codes, NFPA standards, manufacturer specifications, and project documentation. They will perform hands on work such as routing and terminating wiring through walls, ceilings, and other structural elements; drilling and mounting equipment; and ensuring all installations are completed accurately and safely. They will inspect fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 72 requirements, programming control panels, testing system components (including backup batteries, keypads, sirens, and devices), and will troubleshoot issues such as faulty equipment or loose connections. They will work from work orders and building plans and will determine the material and installation requirements necessary. They will interact with customers to demonstrate how to operate the system, etc.

Required Skills & Experience
• Programming experience with fire alarm and electronic security systems
• Hands on experience with one or more:
o Fire Alarm Systems
o Burglar/Intrusion Alarms
o Access Control Systems
o CCTV / Video Surveillance
• Experience with key vendors, including:
o Fire Alarm: DMP, Potter (primary); exposure to additional systems a plus
o Access Control: Kantech, Keyscan
o CCTV: Commercial video surveillance platforms
• Experience doing a fire alarm and/or security system install from start to finish
• Local travel with 25% out of state travel
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
DMP (Digital Monitoring Products) or Potter experience – primary fire alarm panels/platforms company currently uses
