Job Description

An Insight Global client has a role for a Senior Automation Engineer – PLC & Python supporting the Automated Cementing program. Based in Duncan, OK, you’ll help build a safety‑critical platform that replaces manual, click‑heavy cementing workflows with deterministic, software‑driven automation. This is a hands‑on role close to real equipment, operators, and global field operations working across PLCs (Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.), Python‑based orchestration above PLCs, and integrations via OPC‑UA/MQTT/REST while supporting testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting on live equipment. This person will either need to relocate, commute or travel to Duncan, OK on a regular basis to support this role.

Targeted Pay Range: $60-80/hr

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years in industrial automation / controls / systems integration
• Strong hands‑on PLC experience (any major platform)
• Python development experience used in real systems (automation, integration, tooling, orchestration)
• Experience working with industrial equipment, not just simulations
• Comfortable troubleshooting systems that mix hardware + software
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience in multi‑PLC environments or distributed control systems
• HMI / SCADA exposure
• Industrial networking or edge computing experience
• Oil & gas, cementing, or heavy equipment background (or willingness to learn fast)
