Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a brand new award supporting the AirForce at Wright-Patterson AFB. This role involves leading full lifecycle systems engineering efforts, including requirements development, design, integration, testing, and deployment of secure, scalable mission systems. The candidate will interface directly with Air Force stakeholders to ensure technical alignment with operational goals and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards such as RMF and STIGs. Responsibilities include supporting cloud and tactical system integration, conducting risk assessments, and producing detailed technical documentation. The engineer will also contribute to cross-domain solutions and mentor junior team members. A strong background in Windows and Linux systems administration, scripting, and infrastructure tools is essential. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that directly support Air Force missions. This position will be on-site at Wright-Patterson AFB.

Required Skills & Experience
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, preferably supporting DoD or Air Force programs
- Expertise in Windows and/or Linux systems, including administration, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with tools and technologies such as:
Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, Group Policy, WSUS
Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), Bash scripting, systemd, SELinux, iptables
- Strong understanding of network architecture, cybersecurity principles, and cross-domain solutions
- IAT II Certification or Higher
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Masters degree in a technical discipline.
- Certifications such as CISSP, PMP, or INCOSE CSEP.
- Experience with cloud-based architectures (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior experience supporting Air Force platforms such as C2ISR, ABMS, or Space Systems.
- Familiarity with Air Force systems, standards, and lifecycle methodologies (e.g., AFLCMC, AFWERX, AFGSC).
- Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, SysML, and MATLAB.
