Job Description

The position provides engineering support for aircraft and vehicle sustainment technology development and transition including aircraft, vehicle, and ground support equipment maintenance. This role will:
Support design, manufacturing, and test/validation of repair procedures for advanced manufacturing technologies. The ideal candidate will support technicians on material characterization of cold spray and additive manufacturing material deposits used in repair and sustainment of parts for aircraft, vehicle, and ground support equipment. Assist in planning, coordinating, developing, and executing test protocols, experiments, process characterization and process validations on new and revised products and processes. This applicant will be responsible for writing and updating technical data packages for repairs, as well as other required documentation. Additionally, they will consult with or provide technical advice to team members regarding product and process issues. They will also develop and complete training for additive manufacturing, cold spray, and/or advanced manufacturing processes.

Required Skills & Experience

1. BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
2. 3+ years of experience in product development
3. 3+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design software, preferably SolidWorks
4. 3+ years of practical experience in 2D drawing generation, including application of GD&T
5. 2+ years of experience in simulation and FEA analysis using an industry standard analysis tool such as ANSYS

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

1. 5+ years of experience performing FEA analysis using ANSYS to include static and dynamic analysis
2. Experience with Additive Manufacturing, including print file generation
