Job Description

A client in the Columbus, OH area is seeking an Operations Lead for a top concrete construction client. This individual will be responsible for overseeing multiple large-scale concrete construction projects while owning both operational execution and overall financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in vertical concrete construction, a proven track record of leading multiple project teams, and strong business acumen around budgeting, forecasting, and project controls. This leader will play a critical role in scaling operations, mentoring project leadership, maintaining key client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly accomplished construction operations professional seeking significant influence over project success, team growth, and long-term organizational performance.

Day-to-Day:
- Oversee the full Project Execution Process (PEP) across multiple active projects
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable 3–5 Project Leaders
- Build, staff, and scale high-performing project teams
- Own project financials including budgets, forecasting, projections, cash flow, and risk mitigation
- Validate project estimates, schedules, logistics plans, and supplier scopes during preconstruction
- Lead planning meetings, CPP meetings, and monthly financial reviews
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships from preconstruction through project completion
- Ensure safety, quality, schedule, manpower, and financial objectives are consistently achieved
- Develop future leaders through mentoring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes
- Support strategic business growth through operational excellence and team development

Required Skills & Experience

- 15+ years of construction experience with end-to-end project/build lifecycle knowledge
- 5+ years' experience running multiple teams across multiple jobs simultaneously (3–5 active projects)
- Experience owning project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Experience overseeing $30M–$50M in active work at one time
- Project history in water waste treatments / civil work

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Exposure to metal framing and complex structural systems
- Background in preconstruction and estimating support
- Experience developing and executing talent plans and mentoring future leaders
