Insight Global is looking for hire a Network Engineer for one of our largest clients in Independence, OH. This position will be responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and optimizing new and existing voice and data networking solutions. This person will ensure reliable network operation across multiple data centers, plants, production facilities and offices. This hands-on individual will assist with the network architecture and design, engineering and administration for all network, telecommunications and security related hardware and software components. This individual must have a proven track record of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures. 60% of this role will be incident and problem resolution while 40% is request project management. 10% of this position will be traveling to locations outside of Ohio.
Responsibilities:
- Recommend, design, implement and ensure ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the network infrastructure across the enterprise devices including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points/controllers/bridges, monitoring applications, etc.
- Familiar with network integration with PLCs, HMIs, I/O devices, controllers and SCADA
- Responsible for overall performance and availability of network infrastructure
- Establish and monitor network infrastructure security configuration standards, procedures and compliance
- Proactively monitor and resolve network performance and communication issues to ensure maximum availability and reliability
- Analyze network and network security infrastructure recommending upgrades/changes supporting continuous improvement and capacity planning efforts
- Proactively coordinates asset life cycle maintenance by procuring, deploying, maintaining and retiring hardware devices, software and peripherals
- Configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing VOIP network and devices
- Familiar with the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of video conferencing solutions
- Resolve issues in a timely manner; documenting steps taken to do so and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Participate as an escalation point of contact for network related after hours incidents
- Develop and maintain network disaster recovery procedures including detailed documentation such as topology diagrams, device configurations and checklists

- 5+ years experience in Network Engineering, specifically in a CISCO environment
- Expert level understanding supporting LAN, WAN, wireless and voice networks
- Knowledge and experience administering Next Generation Firewalls and IPS policies
- Knowledge and experience administering on premise and/or Cloud VoIP solutions
- Exposure to IT/OT Network Switch
- Expertise with virtualized environments, VMware strongly preferred
- Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity control frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO, and CIS)
