Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced AVEVA PI Systems Analyst/Developer to support environmental data management, process standardization, and optimization initiatives across multiple operating locations. This role will focus on evaluating existing PI System architectures, developing standardized Asset Framework (AF) models, enhancing PI Vision displays, and providing ongoing support to environmental stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AVEVA PI Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision, and data analysis tools such as Excel and Power Query. Experience with Seeq is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders to review existing calculations, events, notifications, and data structures across multiple PI databases.
Identify and document current environmental monitoring and reporting processes.
Evaluate existing asset-specific analyses and notifications to determine opportunities for template-based standardization across multiple sites.
Review industry and organizational best practices and consolidate calculations, analyses, and notifications into a standardized database structure.
Assess current tag-based displays and PI Vision calculations to determine optimal migration and implementation strategies within Asset Framework (AF).
Develop and configure element-based displays and associated AF hierarchies.
Map existing tags and data sources within Asset Framework to improve scalability and maintainability.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements and standardization opportunities.
Provide day-to-day support for Environmental teams, including troubleshooting PI System issues, responding to user inquiries, and creating or locating tags as needed.
Document configurations, processes, and best practices to support ongoing maintenance and future enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with AVEVA PI Asset Framework (AF).
Strong experience with AVEVA PI Vision.
Experience configuring and supporting PI System calculations, analyses, events, and notifications.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, data analysis, and automation.
Experience utilizing Power Query for data transformation and reporting.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Seeq for advanced analytics, visualization, and process data analysis is highly preferred.
Experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), refinery, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
Experience with PI Data Archive administration and tag management.
Knowledge of operational technology (OT), industrial control systems, or process automation environments.
Experience leading data standardization, governance, or enterprise PI System initiatives.
