Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking an Project Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting an expanding production facility in Fairfield, Ohio. This individual will assist in the design of new equipment layout or existing equipment renovation to support the needs of two facilities. This individual should have the ability to develop scope of work documents, generate budgets, establish project timelines, review utility capacity and availability, and work with various trades (riggers/millwrights, electricians, pipe fitters, etc.) to complete projects. This involves walking through the facility or construction site and computer design/planning work. As a project engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new or improved production layouts, workflows, equipment, tools, and methods. You will also collaborate with other engineers and technicians to solve emerging issues and improve our processes. To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field, and at least three years of experience in the industry. Experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, process maps and other documentation. As much of the industrial world adds levels of automation, this individual will be responsible for executing projects designed to add value in this area. This includes vendor selection based on design criteria for the project, integration with IT systems, and consideration for human interaction to the equipment. This work ties in with ongoing efforts towards continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Interactions with equipment vendors and raw material suppliers are required and the candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in this area. This Engineer is expected to be able to support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis and conduct time studies, capacity analysis, material flow analysis, simulation, and other engineering techniques to evaluate and improve production performance. Ideally, we are looking for an organized, self-driven problem solver to join the organization to support both day-to-day operations and specialty projects. Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)

3 years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering

Experience in food, pharmaceutical, or consumer product experience industry (FDA or USDA facility)

Understanding of computer networking and simulation software (e.g. Rockwell Arena)

Experience working with packaging materials and supplier interaction

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Exposure to electrical distribution systems and low-voltage controls

Root-Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement, Statistical Analysis

Exposure to mechanical systems (steam, water, air), fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Graduated from strong engineering school -- Purdue, OSU, Miami University, Georgia Tech, Rose-Hulman, Carnegie Mellon, U of Michigan, Northwestern, Va Tech, Penn State, U of Illinois, U of Wisconsin
