Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Production Quality Engineer (PQE) for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering client in Fairfield, OH. This is a highly hands-on, shop floor-focused role and not a desk-heavy quality position. The ideal candidate will spend most of their time supporting manufacturing operations through product inspections, troubleshooting quality issues, reviewing nonconformances and dispositions, guiding inspectors, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This individual will serve as a key liaison between Quality, Engineering, and Production, ensuring products meet customer requirements and quality standards throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong inspection experience, be proficient with FARO Arm technology, possess solid GD&T knowledge, and be comfortable reading engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100-certified manufacturing environments is required, while PolyWorks experience is highly preferred.
Day-to-Day:
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections
• Utilize FARO Arm technology and PolyWorks to verify dimensional conformance
• Review inspection results, quality records, material certifications, and documentation
• Investigate quality issues, defects, and nonconforming products
• Lead and support NCR, corrective action, and root cause investigations
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues directly on the production floor
• Support and guide quality inspectors through inspection processes and requirements
• Review disposition decisions and ensure quality outcomes are properly documented
• Partner with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to improve manufacturing processes
• Support supplier quality activities, audits, and quality system compliance
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and inspection process optimization
• Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements

Required Skills & Experience
• 3+ years of quality-related experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
• Hands-on experience with FARO Arm inspection equipment
• Mechanical and/or electrical background with knowledge of mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDS
• Strong GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) knowledge
• Experience with inspections, nonconformances (NCRs), and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, fabrication, assembly)
• Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• PolyWorks experience (especially programming inspection routines)
• Gas turbine, power generation, or rotating equipment experience
• Supplier Quality experience (SCARs, supplier audits, performance tracking)
• MRB, RMA, and corrective action experience
• Autodesk Inventor or CAD experience
• Aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing experience
• Experience reviewing 2D drawings against 3D models
